IIPA is imparting training and capacity building to the government officials of India and abroad from 1959. Every year, IIPA conducts more than 100 training programmes for the officials. The flagship programme of IIPA is 10-month Advanced Professional Programme in Public Administration (APPPA) which is attended by senior officials of All India Services (AIS), Central Civil Services and Defence Services mainly Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Police Services (IPS), Indian Revenue Services (IRS), Indian Air Force, Indian Army and various other services. IIPA conducts training for the officials of different departments and ministries of Government of India and State Governments on various topics of governance, finance, communication, leadership, administration and management. The period of training programme varies from 3 days to 10 months. IIPA is also involved in the capacity building of the civil servants of foreign countries and conducted training for the officials of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, Vietnam, Mongolia, African and Latin American countries under direct and ITEC programme.
In response to the DoPT circular dated 29 April 2021 inviting proposals for In-Service Training Programme (IST) for officers working under the Central Staffing Scheme, Officers of Central Secretariat Service (CSS), and Officers of Central Secretariat Stenographer Services (CSSS) (DS/Sr. PPS and above level), Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) has designed 28 proposals for one week and 8 proposals for 3-5 days. The proposals are designed keeping in view the topics listed in the invitation letter. Each proposal is designed with the thematic area, core competence, work schedule, specific skills to be instilled, administrative and technical skills, and the distinctiveness of the course curriculum. By emphasizing practice-relevant skills designed in a competency framework, the programmes help address competency gaps of the government employees. At the end of the proposed trainings, the target groups would be well-equipped with project management skills, problem-solving techniques, visualize rapid adaption mechanisms to combat unforeseen critical gaps, and develop a holistic understanding of organizational culture without shaking the silos that the officers would have lived with. The information drawn from common quarters is embedded with the sociology of society and the economic drivers of the market that can bring a synthetic amalgamation in powerful and informative ways to make sense of governance challenges and take appropriate action thereon.
This four -days program on public Policy and Administration was very well received by all participants . It was a privilege to attend it. Very good speakers and very well organized. It would be great to attend such programs in future. The program has provided valuable insights from domain experts on important topics in a very lucid and well adjusted manner.
After attending 5 days training course in premier institute IIPA my perception is that this institute truly understands judiciary. Contents offered in training Programme are rich in flavor and ameliorate our preview towards adminiteration. Galaxy of faculty members makes lectures not only enlightening but also easy to grasp. In my experience as a judicial officer training here- IIPA has given an edge to my skill of managing time, day to day workload, pendency of cases, office and managerial staff.
